CORALIS

The CORALIS system combines the two complementary techniques LIBS and RAMAN. Using a high-resolution sample image, preselected measurement positions are analyzed either with RAMAN or LIBS or with both methods in succession.

CORALIS

The unique Aryelle Echelle spectrometer at its core offers high resolution, a wide wavelength range and light throughput at the highest level. The laser-safe housing and the integrated safety circuit ensure user-friendly handling of the device and protection of the installed components.

Setup

CORALIS (COmbined RAman LIbs System) offers unique advantages for applications in areas such as technical cleanliness, particle analysis, forensics and more due to its exceptional combination of imaging, molecular and elemental analysis.

By using an automated CMOS 6-Mpixel camera and the choice of two microscope objectives, the CORALIS provides a high-resolution overview or detailed image. The integrated imaging algorithm supports automatic particle detection as well as analysis of particle size, size distribution and particle counting. The image mode is also used to define the areas for subsequent molecular and elemental analysis.

Further analysis of the sample or particle can be performed with either RAMAN or LIBS or with both techniques in sequence. The CORALIS contains two different RAMAN lasers at 532nm and 785nm. The molecular information transmitted by the RAMAN signal is collected by highly efficient mirror optics and directed to the Aryelle spectrometer via free beam optics. Further optimization of the high-resolution RAMAN signal can be performed by the background correction integrated in the FusionRL software package. The RAMAN spectra can be analyzed in FusionRL itself or by simple export to the well-known and proven spectroscopy software KnowItAll® from Wiley.

In addition to RAMAN analysis, CORALIS offers detailed elemental analysis using LIBS. The excellent spectral resolution together with the broad wavelength range down to the deep UV range makes it possible to obtain a detailed fingerprint of the sample. Both classification and quantitative analysis are possible.
