The powerful wide-range dual spectrograph has two separate spectral ranges for the VUV and UV-VIS-NIR bandwidths, each with a focal length of 400 mm and a common detector - for maximum flexibility in precise elemental analysis with LIBS and Raman spectroscopy.
The ARYELLE Butterfly is a special kind of echelle double spectrograph from the ARraY echELLE series. Combined in a compact housing, two spectrally separated ARYELLE 400 spectrometers sequentially image two-dimensional echelle spectra on a common detector – a cost-effective solution for extremely wide-range coverage with very high spectral resolution. This enables maximum variability in the measurement of the spectrum in the VUV and UV-VIS-NIR range. Each of the two partial spectrometers of the ARYELLE Butterfly has a focal ratio of f/10 and a focal length of 400 mm. Both dispersion units each consist of an echelle grating, prism, imaging optics and entrance slit. The simultaneously measurable wavelength ranges and resolutions can therefore be individually adapted to almost any application. The given detector area of 27 x 27 mm² allows the combination with a variety of different CCD and ICCD cameras.
Chromatic aberrations are avoided by using a CaF2 prism and reflective optics with broadband UV coatings. The radiation is coupled into the ARYELLE butterfly spectrometer via an SMA fiber for the UV-VIS-NIR range or via pure reflection transfer optics for the VUV range. A mercury lamp and an internal shutter are available for automatic recalibration of the wavelength scale.
With the Sophi software supplied, all functions of the spectrometer-detector unit are controlled via an intuitive graphical user interface with integrated script language for automated measurement sequences. Optionally, the operation can be extended by a LabVIEW library. Qualitative multi-element analyses are based on a spectral database evaluation of the detected spectrum. Algorithm-supported quantitative analysis requires calibration with reference materials.
