Non-ferrous metal sorting with LIBS – Scientific publication by LTB

The spectroscopy team at LTB Lasertechnik Berlin, in recent successful collaboration with ISAS Berlin – Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences, has published their latest scientific results on high-speed non-ferrous metal sorting with LIBS for industrial applications. During a material stream analysis of 25 parts/s, an average correct classification rate of 76‑100% was achieved, depending on the material class. Various multivariate discriminant analysis techniques (PCS, PLS-DA) are discussed in terms of their applicability.
