LTB Strengthens Its Research and Development Department

With Dr. Lutz Pfeifer as Head of Spectroscopy Research and Norman Bensmann as the new Head of Laser Development, LTB is realigning its focus.

Managing Director Christian Scholz: “We want to distribute the growing scope and demands of the departments across multiple shoulders. Over the past few years, we have seen steady growth in both areas. To meet the research needs in both branches, we are strengthening the leadership of each group. We do not fear the loss of existing synergies. These appointments involve long-standing employees who have demonstrated their successful collaboration in multiple projects.”

Dr. Lutz Pfeifer was recruited to the LTB team in 2011. Prior to that, there had already been close cooperation in the field of time-resolved fluorescence while he was still with IOM-Innovative Optical Instruments. Until 2017, Dr. Pfeifer was responsible for the successful development of a highly sensitive fluorescence detection system. He then took over leadership of the Raman & Fluorescence group and played a key role in the development of the CORALIS system.

Norman Bensmann also joined LTB in 2011. As a young member of the R&D department, he played a crucial role in various developments and projects, continually driving them forward with innovative ideas. “His knowledge and pronounced ‘out of the box’ thinking are a tremendous asset to LTB in every respect,” said CEO Christian Scholz.

The duo succeeds David Mory, who, after ten intensive years at the helm of the research department, has decided to take on a new challenge. LTB thanks him for his valuable contributions and wishes him much success in his future career.
