The CALIBSO is a laboratory measurement system based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS).
The technology enables qualitative and quantitative multi-element analysis. Using a high-quality sample image, preselected measurement positions are analyzed without contact and with high spatial and spectral resolution. The easy-to-use Sophi nXt software ensures reliable control of all components. The robust housing with integrated safety circuit ensures safe handling and reliable protection of the installed components.
The CALIBSO is a versatile measurement system for elemental analysis using LIBS in a laboratory environment. It offers unique advantages for applications in the fields of geology, metallurgy, environment, forensics and many others.
By using an automated CMOS-based 6 megapixel camera, the CALIBSO provides a high-resolution, clear live image of the sample. The imaging mode is also used to define individual measurement points or selected area scans for subsequent analysis. The coaxial beam path enables a resolution of approx. 25µm.
The integrated Aryelle echelle spectrometer offers an exceptional combination of high spectral resolution and a wide wavelength range. The measurement of up to 40 spectra per second guarantees short measurement times even for area scans with many thousands or tens of thousands of measuring points.
The use of an ultra-modern, durable, air-cooled DPSS laser reduces maintenance and servicing costs to a minimum. The proven optical design of the laser beam focusing enables a spot size of approx. 70µm. Thanks to an integrated safety circuit, the system can be operated without additional personal protective equipment. The optimized mirror collection optics in combination with a thermally stabilized spectrometer ensures signal detection with high light intensity and stability.
The CALIBSO software Sophi nXt controls all system functions and provides user-friendly tools for the subsequent analysis of the recorded spectra. The software guides you through the process of imaging, measurement and analysis. A powerful selection of univariate and multivariate analysis methods PCA, PLS-DA, Lasso and many other functions offers the right choice for classifications and quantifications and extends the range of applications in addition to elemental analysis based on the emission line database. The highly precise and fast xyz sample stage enables the user to create element mapping as well as depth profiles of points, lines or areas.
